MALINDI MARINE NATIONAL PARK RESERVE SAFARI

Malindi Marine Park and Reserve was the first marine protected area in Kenya, established in 1968. The park has a total area of 6 km2. It is located south of Malindi town extending to Mida creek. It neighbors Gede ruins and Arabuko Sokoke forest. The park is enveloped by a national reserve and a 100 ft strip of coastal land starting from Vasco-da-Gama pillar to Watamu. The reserve covers 213 km2 and extends three and a half nautical miles out to seaward. The Park and Reserve has features such as being easily accessible by road and air, hosting rich and relatively unaffected marine biodiversity, beautiful beach and warm water safe for swimming among other factors.

Day 1
Depart from Nairobi and drive south towards Tsavo east national park which is the largest in Kenya and famous for, Elephant in den, Aruba dam, mudana rock the longest lava flow in the world, Luggard’s falls and spectacular voyages of discovery Lunch at Mtito Andei (PAY DIRECT) .Here the guide will give a brief history of the region, including the construction of the “Lunatic railway line”. Then drive past Taru desert to Malindi. Overnight at Malindi

Day 2
After breakfast proceeds to Malindi marine national park reserve here one will enjoy either of the following activities:
  • Swimming in the warm ocean water
  • Snorkeling
  • Boat rides
  • Diving
  • Dhow rides
  • Sun bathing
  • Educational tour
  • Picnic and barbeque on Island
  • Wind surfing (in the reserve)
Overnight at Malindi

Day 3
After breakfast depart for Malindi town and embark on a panoramic tour, then visit Gede ruins, Arabuko Sokoke forest and later visit the Vasco-da-Gama pillar.

Day 4
After breakfast depart for Nairobi a stopover at Voi town. Lunch at Voi (PAY DIRECT). Arrive Nairobi at around 1830hrs.
